It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

So how did you all spend your first days of 2010?  Well I'll tell you how I spent mine, so unbelievably sick I spent 2 days stuck on the couch, barely able to move without puking, suffering from severe muscle aches, chills so bad I thought I had hypothermia and a fever that made me want to jump into an icy lake.  And of course to top it all off an extremely painful headache and dizziness.  Yay for 2010!  Thank god I was feeling better today because today my family and I celebrated my son Seth's first BIRTHDAY!!!!  Though he was born one year ago tomorrow we had a party for him as well as having him baptized (I'm not particularly religious, but I wanted to have it done)  Wow, it still blows my mind that a year ago today I was in the hospital in labor, it honestly seems like yesterday. It's freaky how quickly the time goes.

If you have weather oscillations as we do here (one day summer, other day snow) - it was probably a virus, it happens a lot at this time of year :)

yeah the weather is all over the place. I never thought I would miss winter, but I miss just having a straight cold winter, instead of one day freezing and the next day I only need a light sweater.
