This is the finished product of a poster project we were given in class, ironically I think it was assigned after Earth Day. I decided to avoid the usually earth day cliches and go for a bit more abstract and somewhat vintage poster feel. I like the way it turned out, and honestly I was over halfway done before I realized the bottom half looked kind of evil and the top half looked all happy. I guess I've started doing design subconsciously now!
Subconscious design is good. It makes people want to buy your stuff without realiing you told them to.
I love the vintage thing. It's got kind of an updated, sort of hippie look, which goes so well for Earth Day. The weird symmetry is nice, too--very aesthetically appealing. I'm sure you put a lot of effort into this, and it really shows.
The only thing I feel I should point out as a "critique" is that you can't see the giraffe's head. The poor guy sort of disappears in the black ring above him.
oh nos, he does!!, I'll have to fix that tomorrow, and repost it, thanks for pointing that out, I probably wouldn't have noticed it until I went to hand it in or print it out!
